The SOW (Sertoman of the Week)

EX-SOW, Brad Burns (R), hands off the trophy to Okey Reese, new SOW!

I'm sorry to have to report that Bob Kopplin has been summarily summoned (!) to report for duty aboard the Starship Enterprise.  He is expected to be gone for at least 6 months, but, it IS for the good of humanity.  We'll miss ya' Bob!

Well, our annual golf tournament is shaping up . . . . it's at Mariana Butte again this year.  The cost is $120 if you pay before May 1st, or $135 if you procrastinate.  There will be raffle prizes awarded this year, as well as a possible $10K payout for a hole in on on the (Par 3) 8 hole!  CLICK HERE for Golf Tournament entry form

Softball is a GO!  So far, I've heard we have 10 signed up!  If YOU would like to be a Charter Member of Sertoma's first softball team in DECADES, contact Josh Benedict joshuabenedict@hotmail.com or 219-6819 .

Once again, we are scheduled to help with Realities Ride/Beer Bash.  This year we will be participating on May 29th and 30th, a Saturday and Sunday.  You should check out their web site:  http://www.realitiesride.com/  It's shaping up to be quite the brawl!

Ken Borrett told us last week of Kay's paintings being on exhibit at the Lincoln Center.  I don't know if they are still there, but you should see 'em quick before they start charging admission!

Little Timmy Miller had a brag on th' Beave . . . . seems he has given his "all" for Sertoma.  Taken it to the limit, scrunched the goat, jumped the shark, and generally did us proud.  See the picture to the right.

We have another work project coming up this Saturday, the 17th in Loveland.  We will be finishing the corral fencing . . . just a matter of cutting to size and nailing 2 x 8s to vertical poles.  You know, a fence.
We started this project several weeks ago, and had to stop to let the people in charge prep the corral a little more.  EZ in and out.  Coffee, donuts, Bar-b-Q afterwards.

Yep.  we did good!

Josh Benedict had a $5 brag, since last month was his FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with New York Life!  Of course, he did what anyone else would do in his place . . . . . he QUIT!
Tell him "Congrats" when you see him, 'cause he has partnered up with 2 other guys, and now operates out of Cheyenne AND Greeley.  I think it's called "Who gives a shit?"  NO . . . . that's not right . . . . Two guys and a jackass . . . . NO, that's not it either.  Damn. Guess you'll just have to ask him.  :)

Zach Wilson bragged that he'll be going to NYC in May.  He also told us that the Boys & Girls Glub "Black Tie Bingo" will be held on April 17th, above the Rio, cost of $100, "for a good cause".

Don Simecka tells us he has 17 signed up to go to see the Rocks play the Marlins:

Ticket price $20  ROCKIES vs FLORIDA MARLINS     April 23rd`Departure from I-25 & HARMONY "PARK & RIDE" at 5 P.M.  Transportation via minivans &/or Suburbans.
No planned stops to & from.  All chaos will have to be limited to the ballpark!  17 guys signed up.
The $5 -$7 each should cover transportation

Gary Ross returned from his sojourns recently, and regaled us with stories of his travels.  Gas, he told us, was least expensive in Colorado!

Jim Manning also made it back alive from Key West a while back . . . . He remarked "Walking down Duval Street, palm trees and flamingos . . . . It was fine!"

It's so sad about Roger . . . . last Friday, he told me he was leaving for Paris, London, then Monte Carlo.  Apparently, I'm in the WRONG business!

Tim Miller bragged on his b'day on St. Patty's Day, and thanked everyone who is still contributing into the Social Security system, 'cause he's now doing his best to suck it dry.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, old man!

Jim Nutt, in his position as Sgt. at Arms, announced recently that the badge box is now IN ORDER, and badges are expected to be worn.  Penalties WILL apply to the badgeless!

We will be meeting at the Aztlan Center beginning on June 4th.
