"I just delivered the club's $500.00 donation to
the Ft. Collins Baseball Club office in city park.
The baseball scholarship fund is much healthier
now and every dollar is already spoken for.
FCBC is going to celebrate its 50Th year in
existence with two events, and they have offered
these events as freebies for FC Sertoma Club
members (as many as may want to attend):
(1) a Scholarship Breakfast on Friday, May 6Th
(Friday) at the FC Hilton from 7 to 8:30 a.m. --
Dan O'Dowd of the Rockies will be guest speaker
along with other baseball celebrities and
memorabilia. RSVP to me at 224-5326 NLT May 1st.
(2) Community 50 years of Youth Baseball
celebration on June 18 (Saturday) at Rolland Moore

the whole community to come during those hours.
(Well, I guess we can still make this one, eh?
Stoner told us recently how th' Beave recently had
another operation to try to make things better
with his arm. His arm is immobilized, and
will be for months, apparently. Ed told us
how Randy has a line inserted directly into his
heart so he can receive daily infusions of
antibiotics so he doesn't get a staph infection.
Apparently he will be dealing with this until
OCTOBER! The worst part Ed says though, is
that Randy CAN'T DRINK!! Gary Ross, kindly,
thoughtful, old gent that he is, considerately
offered to help him drink it so it doesn't get
stale. Ed thought that "might be

life recently: Seems he was recently asked
to play in a golf tournament. Of course, not
being stupid, he said "nawwww". Then
he was reminded that this tournament was for
handicapped and blind kids, and then he thought,
"FUUUCCCK, I could win this thing!"
Nathan Weinland was thanked by John Knezovich (and
applauded by the club) for his recent
organizational skills . . . . he set up and herded
about 30 of us to the Midtown Arts Center to see a
production of 42nd Street. (Read below)
Mike Tarantino reminded us of our upcoming golf

Subject: Drinking and
Driving, by little timmy miller
"I would like to share with you all an
experience that I recently had
regarding drinking and driving.
Many of us have had brushes with the
law, or could well have had
brushes on our way home. Well, I for
one have done something about it.
The other night I was out for dinner and
a few drinks with some friends.
Having had a few too many glasses of
wine and knowing I was well over
the limit, I did something I've never
done before. I took a bus home.
I arrived home safely and without
incident, which was a real surprise as
I had never driven a bus before."
Buns had a $5 brag about his buying a home in
Rehme, in an "attempt to raise the cultural
level", told us:
There once was a weirdo named Weiner,
Who had a perverted demeanor.
Forced from the hill for acting like Bill,
now Congress is leaner one Weiner.
uh, thanks Norm!
V.P. Projects guy, Jim Bernecker, has been
organizing a door sanding and shelf staining
project taking place in Wellington. There is
a warehouse there that has all of the doors
we took out of the original building. They
are being converted into other useful items, like
tables and shelving. An
update on this: they are finished and
installed. Almost 50 of us are going to meet
on Friday, 8/26
at Crossroads Safehouse for lunch, and to
appreciate all of our handiwork.
Young had a brag for his grandson . . . . he
graduated a while back with a degree in Mechanical
Engineering from CSU. At the time, he was a
team leader for a class project that took top
honors that year, making a robotic arm.
Since then, he has continued to refine the arm,
which was sold two of them to a company in Wales,
currently being used to clean out vats full of
radioactive waste.! He is over there now,
helping set them up so they'll work.

earlier this week he had a birthday! Last
year on his birthday, he decreed that it would be

"most of us forgot that". However, he
recognized Tom Bryan as having remembered!
Here is someone's
rant I received by email recently. I don't
know who started it, but I can sure see why.
And I agree with it totally. I just think
it's nice to be reminded what's what:
Entitlement my a$$!!
I paid cash for my social security
insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the
money doesn't make my benefits some kind of
charity or handout !! Congressional benefits,
i.e., free healthcare , outrageous retirement
packages , 67 paid holidays , three weeks paid
vacation , unlimited paid sick days , now
that's welfare , and they have the nerve
to call my retirement entitlements
What the HELL's wrong??? WAKE
UP AMERICA !!!!
Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front
page side by side :
1- Calif 's 20
Billion Dollar Budget Deficit
2- The Calif Supreme
Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college
and get benefits.
Why don't they just
deport them when they arrive to register?
3- Last year they ran
an article on the yearly costs to California
Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital
Emergency Rooms for their general health care
At just one hospital
the cost to tax payers totaled over 25
million a year
Someone please tell
me what the HELL's wrong with all the people
that run this country!!!!!!
We're "broke" & can't
help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans,
In the last months we
have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and
Turkey . And now Pakistan .......home of bin

retired seniors living on a 'fixed income'
receive no aid nor do they get any breaks
while our government and religious
organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of
$$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign
They call Social
Security and Medicare an entitlement even
though most of us have been paying for it all
our working lives and now when its time for us
to collect, the government is running out of
money. Why did the government borrow from it
in the first place? We have hundreds of
adoptable children who are shoved aside to
make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.
AMERICA: a country where we have homeless
without shelter, children going to bed
hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds,
and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.
YET..................... They have a 'Benefit'
for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations,
ships and planes lining up with food, water,
tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical
Imagine if the

Pharris bragged recently that he turned 58 (on
June 22nd)). He also related as how it was
his "Silver Anniversary with the club . . . . . 25
years . . . . . . . and had a check for both.
A third brag involved the fact that he is
now dating a
"beautiful 50-year old blonde who
likes to fly fish, scuba dive, shoot skeet, sail,
ride horses, play golf, and is twin-engine
certified". I kept waiting for the punch
line, but none needed. Apparently, he's
found the real deal!
current Prez, Ken Reiter, recently related a story
about his younger, still-working, ultra-efficient
C.P.A. wife. Seems Patty left him a list
recently of "stuff" that needed doing around the
house. Like the good (retired) house-husband
he is, Ken dutifully did some shopping, trimmed
the hedges, dusted, and so on, when he came to the
item that said "sex drawer".
So, he proceeded to clean up before she got home,
started dinner, and when she got home, he asked
her "what are you gonna' do this evening hun?",
and referenced her mention of the aforementioned
"sex drawer". Well, she looked at the list
and said "that says SOX DRAWER, you idiot!"

She multiplies and enlarges what is

Rob then told us how names were being accepted for

Our newest President Elect,
Pat Reed, had a check and a brag for his 50th
wedding anniversary. He also had a second
brag for his son, Clayton. Seems Clayton was
recently appointed here in CO to the "Board of
Directors for the World Alpine Ski Championship".
Clayton lives in Kansas, so Pat was justifiably
baffled about his son's appointment.
Paul Reed, with
Tim Miller bragged on one of our newer
members, Paul Reed. Paul was recently
mentioned (and pictured!) in the Doloradoan
with his daughter, Alycia. The reporter

local people, and Paul was one of those picked
to interview! Isn't Alycia a

with our first home game (AND AG Day) against UNC
on September 10. We'll also be playing WY on

we can attend a TWO HOUR "training session"
