"And that's what happened to the dinosaurs!"

Rob Allerheiligen recently bragged that he celebrated the "30th anniversary of his 37th birthday,
so he had a check for $30.00.  Makes sense to me.

Carl Glaser recently had a $5 brag, because his son, Adam is now the LEAD BREWER at Fort Collins Brewery!  WOW!  Talk about a reason to have kids!!!

Brad Burns had a $20 brag 'cause he's walking funny.

John Cowen had a $1 brag ('cause that's all he had) because he "got to eat lunch with us today".  Hear, Hear!

Jim Manning had a brag for Bradford Albert (see above) congratulating him on his new wife, Lori.  Seems he, Ed Caffrey, and their wives attended the ceremony two Saturdays ago, officiated by Dan Kaup.  Brad is a married man again!!

Lori Burns

Rob told us we recently received a nice "Thank You" letter from Christy French thanking us for our usual donation of $2,500 to Abby's Concert Series.  They always multiply this money by a factor of 10, but this year over $42,000 was raised to benefit Respite Care and Pathways Hospice.  WOW!!@!

David J. Blomberg received a (belated) letter from Sertoma saying he had received 2011-12 "Presidential Growth Incentive", becoming a "second century recruiter".  He also received a Presidential Growth Award.  Picture not included.  Congrats!!

Bill Green was officially welcomed to Sertoma with a new-member welcome packet.
The bumper sticker IS mandatory, Bill.

Jim Bernecker, our V.P. Projects guy, reported that "we", as a club, contributed 683 hours "in the football side of things", and 1273 hours in community contributory hours in working at Crossroads Safehouse, Realities for Children, etc.  This makes for a grand total of 1,956 HOURS!!!!  Not only that, but he figured out that we earned an average of $33/hr.  WOW!!

Timmy (the Enforcer) thanked everyone who paid their dues already 'cause we can really use the money.  He also said
for those who haven't paid yet, he's easy to find!'

MOVING DAY at Colorado Coffee

This isn't even everyone who came!  E. Scott was a huge help, and Mr. Miller provided a MOVING TRUCK!!  I know there were others as well, but they've gotten off without recognition.
Thanks guys!!!

If you ever need something HEAVY moved, these are the guys for the job!
Almost half a ton of roaster, and we just rolled it out!

Some eggs are needed to go with this ham!

Stayed 'till the bitter end!

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists
are so quick to commit suicide.

Lets have a look at the evidence:

- No Christmas

- No television

-No nude women

- No football

- No pork chops

- No hot dogs

- No burgers

- No beer

- No bacon

- Rags for clothes

- Towels for hats

- Constant wailing from some idiot in a tower

- More than one wife

More than one mother in law

- You can't shave

- Your wife can't shave

- You can't wash off the smell of donkey

- You cook over burning camel shit

- Your wife is picked by someone else for you

- and your wife smells worse than your donkey

Then they tell you that "when you die, it all gets better"??

Well no shit Sherlock!....

It's not like it could get much worse!!

"Demons run when a good man goes to war"

Nathan Weinland told us that if you would like to go with the other 29 Sertomans who have signed up to go to Cirque du Soleil's performance this year on Feb. 3rd, you'd better hurry!  Several seats ARE left in the Sertoma Area (in the right field bleachers, behind the 18'-round light pole), and he will be buying them next week.  $56.50.  Call him!

We had a "cool" project for Crossroads Safehouse on Wednesday.  Cliff reported that about a half dozen guys met at
the airport to gather 22 doors to take to CS to make shelving.  This upcoming Wednesday (the 18th) we will cut these doors to size, if needed, then make 'em into shelving.  There will be some painting as well, so come with drills with screwdriver attachments, and "paint clothes".  We'll need about a dozen guys, Cliff says, from 9 -3.  Oh yeah . . . . the project was "cool" because, at 10 in the morning, it was 17 degrees with the wind chill!!  We didn't CUT the doors, but we got them moved to CS, and ripped out a 20-foot work bench that was in the way.

Rob told us today how he went to a pub with his girlfriend last night.  Locals were shouting "Pedophile", and other names at him, just because he's 50 and his girlfriend's 21.  Completely spoiled their 10th anniversary.
Which reminded ME of the time MY girlfriend called ME a pedophile . . . . pretty big word for a 13-year old.
Rob also told us today that his wife suggested he get myself one of those penis enlargers,
so he did .... she's 21 and her name's Lucy.

Norm had two items to brag:  (1)  The Loveland Library is having its annual Valentine's Day Dance (below), and (2) He was laid-off from First National Bank after 22 years!  He say's he's now self-employed.  Personally, I think that any place that would lay-off Norm doesn't know what they are doing.  I certainly wouldn't trust them with MY money!

In addition, we'll enjoy a special appearance by Mile High Dance Productions and Miss Loveland Valentine."  CLICK HERE for the best kept secret in NoCo!

I had an "un-brag", 'cause it was the first time I've been put out of business by my "employer", Foothills Mall.  At least it feels that way.  So I TOOK a dollar from the brag box.
As I mentioned though, you don't really know who your friends are until you move.  Bernecker called for a work party to help me move my 18 years of accumulated "stuff" from my shop, and 15-20 guys showed up and DID IT, and did it well!  Seriously, everything was packed so well, nothing was broken!!  I was amazed!!
Tim Miller gave me a MOVING VAN to use, and he and Bernecker tracked down about 50 moving boxes!  It was well worth $5 to say "Thank You" to everyone who helped.
Of course, Stoner said they all showed up 'cause they heard I was leaving town,
but that that can't be true.  Right!??!  RIGHT!??!

Monday, the 16th, is the first of our Flag Days.  Jim Manning says "if you have any problems, let him know".

Tom Bryan tells us he is taking registration for a Classic Bicycle Tour on March 20, in conjunction with McKee Hospital.  You can ride 62 miles, 37, 30, or 10 miles.  The cost runs from $5 to $55, depending on distance.  He even said he would pay YOUR registration, although he'll pay it into the Foundation, so I guess what he's doing is matching payment.
Call Him!  Cell:

On Tuesday President Rob told us that the Board voted to give $200 to the Wellington Boys and Girls Club.  He also reminded us about the concept that Ron Young brought up last year, and that was that every member is EXPECTED to commit to giving 10 hours per quarter to the club.  This is how we raise money and get projects done . . . . through our membership.
There are many ways to help.  If you are in doubt as to HOW you can help, just show up at a project (see above), or ask Rob (or Ron Young, or Ken Reiter, or ME).  Now, if you're 80 years old and have "paid your dues", well, that's fine.  But the club can certainly use a little more participation from many more members.  Of our official 78, we have about a dozen who can be counted on to show up, and that's just hard on that dozen guys!

Foundation Funds are now at $62, 801 (goal is $75K)

Our SOW, Jim Bernecker, had some new rules today.  As the "SOWEE", he says that is his prerogative.  If you volunteer to answer a clue and you're WRONG, it will only cost you a quarter.  If he has to call on you because no one volunteered and you're WRONG, it will be fifty cents.  Strangely enough, there were plenty of volunteers!

Clue 1:  Our SOW was actually born in a log cabin!  Rob guessed Abraham Lincoln.  He paid his quarter.
Clue 2:  This guy, in real life, had to go milk the cows when he woke up.
Clue 3:  He rebuilt his motorcycle on his mother's kitchen table!
Clue 4:  Our SOW is really a latent, well-deserved artist with a brush!  Stoner muttered that he was a latent something-else, but he thought I was leaving town, too!
Clue 5:  This gentleman is always teaching his grandchildren how blessed we all are in America, and all of the opportunities we can make for ourselves.
Clue 6:  When our SOW moved to Colordo to go to school, he had a second-grade teacher who taught him everything he knows.
Clue 7:  This gentleman was a coach of young folks, and, interestingly, always wore an orange crush T-shirt.
Clue 8:  He had lunch with Brad Pitt and Angelina in Malta (!!)
Clue 9:  He retired from KODAK!  On THIS clue, our SOW was finally guessed!  who was it?   If Jim had mentioned his Air Force Academy affiliation, or the fact that he FLEW JETS, it might have been easier!  Look Below for the answer.
